Fabio Motta

Fabio Motta is an actor and a teaching artist who had the fortune of performing, devising and teaching theatre in Australia, Italy, and the United States. He is a certified Fitzmaurice Voicework® teacher and runs ongoing workshops in Fitzmaurice voicework®,  Commedia Dell’Arte, Clowning, Acting as Play (Complicite’ and Le Jeu) and Bouffon. He trained at and graduated from many institutions across the globe, with masters in their field: the Accademia Teatrale Veneta (Italy) in Commedia Dell’Arte; HB studio in New York; 16th Street Actors Studio; Clown and Le Jeu with master Philippe Gauliere; Bouffon and Clown pedagogy with Giovanni Fusetti. He also apprenticed and taught under Zack Fines at New York University Tisch School of the Arts in Clowning and Games. Most recently completing his teacher training in Clown with Chris Bayes (Head of Physical Theatre at the Yale school of Drama).

Fabio has taught at NYU, HB studio, the Ume Group (Physical Theatre Ensemble New York). In Melbourne, he runs ongoing classes with the Clowning Workshop – teaching acting through Fitzmaurice Voicework®, clowning and Commedia Dell’arte. He also taught at 16th Street Acting Studio and the National Theatre Drama School. Fabio continues to work with and assist Budi Miller, head of acting at the Victorian College of the Arts, in Fitzmaurice Voicework® and Clowning.
