DREAM DANCES™

The Ume Group’s “DREAM DANCES™” is a moving meditation and theatrical experience based on the real-life dreams of artists and audiences alike. Using an eclectic combination of acrobatics, found object puppetry, Butoh Dance, Soundpainting, and Playback Theatre, an ensemble of physical theatre artists transforms written and verbal accounts of recent dreams into vivid theatrical sketches, surreal comedy and soul-wrenching dance.

“incredibly engaging!  I really think a show like this needs to be seen twice!”

“What a beautiful and inspiring and original piece of theater!  THANK YOU!”

“I liked the moments of vulnerability and intimacy between the actors – a kind of being lost in the scene, in dissonance with one another.”

“Incredibly moving!  Powerful, funny, revealing, every actor was incredibly brave physically and emotionally and it was beautifully inspiring!!! BRAVO!”
